SCHOOL YEAR 2018-19
Our students have been researching information about some historical characters and they have written biographies. Later, they have learnt about some basic drama concepts and play parts and characteristics. They have created their own scripts and performed them in class. It’s been an exciting and funny experience for them!
We have designed and already started an international etwinning project that will last 7 months. All along this time, the Literacy and Physics and Chemistry teachers in 2nd of ESO, and our wonderful students of this level will be working on a variety of activities and projects with the collaboration of two countries; Slovenia and France. We are so excited about our Learning Melting Pot project, and we think it is going to be a great opportunity to meet partners from other countries and learn from each other, with the idea of exchanging traditions and culture, in order to widen our global perspective of the world, meeting new friends, learning from other ways of living and using the foreign language as the only possible code for communication. The expected results involve the exchange of a logo design that represents our project, essays, videos, posts, kahoot questionnaires and games, videoconferences, letters, journals and other activities….through Twinspace, padlet, and some useful apps, webs and means of communication.

In February we have had videoconferences with our mates from Slovenia and France. It has been a very exciting and encouraging experience for students and teachers in the project.
Here we present the preparation and cooking process of the tasty and yummy recipes that our international colleagues from our e-twininng project shared with us!
We have already received some Christmas wishes from Slovenia! They have also sent us some typically dried apples and Slovenian chocolate!!! We tried it in the class. It was delicious!!! Thank you very much!
Once all video presentations from every country have been watched, we have played a kahoot game in the class to show if students have understood them well.

We have been working with different means of communication, advertising, headlines, newspaper language and style, current news and different sections in a newspaper. It has been interesting and FUN! Here we are some of our productions:

As fashion is one of our topics for the year, we have been working on the design of a poster that shows the evolution of fashion in the last 100 years. Students love to see how fads change, and some of them come back! But this is not all! This year we have also edited a video where our students wear different types of dressing styles. It has been a great fun experience!!!
A new school year has already started for our bilingüal students at IES Bajo Aragón. We have planned a wide range of activities and projects for this course!!!
Here we can see Peter, our language assistant for this year. He is from England, and he is going to stay with us from October to May.
SCHOOL YEAR 2017-18
We have been working all along the second term and part of the third term in the production of a drama play with the collaboration of two departments: Literacy and Social Sciences. Students have searched for information about a historical character, written their own scripts, rehearsed the play with awesome costumes and filmed it using our green screen! These days, we have been working on being aware of the importance of having healthy habits such as eating food for thought, sleeping well and staying fit. Students have been comparing products and their food labels (calories, fats, sugar, proteins, vitamins and minerals..) with the help of our language assistant.
Sleeping the right amount of hours every day is the key to optimal cognitive development and efficiency in both personal and professional growth. When we are newborns, infants, toddlers or schoolers sleeping affects in a different way from when we are teens or adults. Each stage in our life presents a variety of characteristics as regards sleeping. See our poster and find out!

Is it possible for the Earth to be billions of years old? There is a wide range of problems which are devastating our planet and it’s the time to face up to them NOW!

Christmas time is coming soon…, and we want to celebrate it in the class! Each student adds a wish word to our Christmas tree.
Students learn about some Christmas dessert recipes in English spoken countries. They cook them in groups and bring them to the class to share with the rest of our classmates. They explain the recipe, their experience cooking and we taste them. They were sooo DELICIOUS! CONGRATULATIONS!!!!

During some days, we have been working on different types of activities such as writing and telling horror stories in the dark, drawing pictures, pretending to be statues which represent a story, creating posters and watching, doing activities and analysing the short film ALMA.
